Grilled Southwestern Pizza
While pizzas are flat, the taste doesn't have to be. Grill up a pizza with pizzazz using CHI-CHI'S® Salsa and CHI-CHI'S® Diced Green Chilies.
Notes: To make Individual Pizzas: Four 4-ounce premade pizza crust can be substituted for the larger size. Top
1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
2 cups sliced mixed mushrooms
3 not applicable cloves garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 (1-pound) Italian bread shell, such as BOBOLI®
1/2 (16-ounce) jar CHI-CHI'S® 16 oz Thick & Chunky Salsa Medium
1/4 pound chorizo sausage, browned and drained
1 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons CHI-CHI'S® Diced Green Chilies, cut lengthwise into strips
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1. Preheat grill for medium indirect heat.
2. In medium skillet, sauté onion, mushrooms and garlic in oil over medium-high heat until tender.
3. Place bread shell on large baking sheet. Spread with salsa. Top evenly with chorizo, mushroom mixture, tomatoes and chilies. Sprinkle with cheese.
4. Slide pizza off baking sheet onto center of grill. Grill 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is melted and pizza is crispy and golden-brown on bottom. Sprinkle with cilantro.
