Prep for the pre-game fans with this cheerfully cheesy, crowd-pleasing torte made with shredded cheese, salsa and diced green chilies.
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 (8-ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend
1 (0.78-ounce) package CHI-CHI'S® Restaurante Seasoning Mix
1 (16-ounce) package sour cream, divided
3 large eggs
1 (4.25-ounce) can CHI-CHI'S® Diced Green Chilies, drained
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
Chopped green onions, for garnish
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and line 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
2. In large bowl, beat together cream cheese, shredded cheese and seasoning mix until fluffy. Stir in 1 cup sour cream. Beat in eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition. Fold in chilies and bell pepper. Pour mixture into springform pan.
3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until center is just about firm. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes; cover with foil. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
4. Run sharp knife carefully around edge of pan to serve. Release side of pan; place torte on serving plate. Top with sour cream and green onions. Cut into wedges to serve. Refrigerate any leftover torte. Serves 8 to 10.
